Story This was the fifth time that I came here hiking along The Wall with my clients. Passing through the huge water gate, climbing up the hill of the small village, we finally started our 8 miles hilly journey. This part of The Wall is famous for its massive towers with good preservation. The towers along the wall were excellent foyers, except raining. After a while, we took a short break in the tower as usual. When I was standing aganist the window drinking water, Dr. M. Douglas, a statistic professor asked me some questions about the organizational system of the army in the Ming Dynasty. Suddenly, he gazed over my head, at the arch of the window behind me, I was curious to turn around and discovered something that was truly amazing! There were some fine lines engraved on the arch of the window which I had never discovered before, not anywhere as I went. Along our trip, we kept finding more of these marking in the following towers. The most exciting thing was that we noticed in window, some words clearly engraved at the end of the lines. It marked the sign of 90/60/45 Bu ( Bu is an accient measurement unit in China, especially for military usage that used for cannon.) As we guessed, Ming's soldiers took aim through these lines to the intruded enemies. In Ming Dynasty, cannons had been largely used as the powerful defense weapon. As for now, more and more Ming's cannons have been unearthed from The Wall, archaeologists still tried to understand how the soldier took aim of the cannon. We finally found an indubitable answer.
